ECP notes and announcements:

• End of Q1 coming up fast!
  • At the beginning of December will start collecting progress for month/quarter.
  • Want to have all of the milestones completed by December 19 at the latest.
• Annual meeting is soon (January 14-18)
  • Everyone going must register by December 14 at https://ecpannualmeeting.com/
    • Foreign nationals should already be registered. If not, do it ASAP.
  • Dave P. is working on our poster
    • Ken sent some highlight slides
    • Hank volunteers to put a square on performance and user story
    • Matt will allow us to use slides from his recent video
    • Hank suggests quad: why VTK-m is good, performance, use/apps, milestone highlights
  • We are part of a tutorial proposal
• "Capability Assessment Report" revision submitted this morning
  • Was able to grab everything from previous reporting. Thanks for that.

ECP deliverable updates:

• [MS-18/09] Better Dynamic Types Impl
  • Rob continues to work on it. Updated merge requests
  • Serialization is not working properly.
  • Some fast passes that still need to be added in
• [MS-19/01] VTK-m Release 2
  • Done
• [MS-19/02] Productionize zfp compression
  • Dave P., Mark Kim, and Matt Larsen had an organization call
  • Mark has now taken off with the code
  • Matt is also around to help
  • It was suggested to submit worklet MR now and do filter in separate MR.
• [MS-19/03] Clip
  • Hank: we are "OK".
  • Did some tests on clipping and compared VisIt to VTK-m.
  • There were some issues, but they have been fixed.
  • We are in pretty good shape. Just need to replace the existing filter to use the new Clip technology.

Note from Kitware: get code for FY19Q1 ASAP as much of their staff will be unavailable starting next week.

Rob: VTK-m has an updated Spack build. It is now in the Spack repository.

Matt: Did a fix in raycasting.

Ollie working on fixing a bug in image connectivity filter.

Brent has been working on the mesh quality metrics filter. Like the VTK filter, it takes in a mesh and outputs a new cell field with the result of the metric.
