ECP updates

  • Probably no more monthly updates (just quarterly updates)
    • Will go over more during these telecons to keep up to date
  • Prep for FY20 and beyond
    • During the ECP annual meeting we discussed some of the things we want to do
      • I have an Excel spreadsheet organizing deliverables, owners, and time estimates. (Not sure the best way to share this.)
      • The amount of work looks to be about right
    • Thinking about a Kanban approach to project organization
      • Will have 4 fairly generic milestones each year (2 releases, 2 deployments)
      • We will have a pool of activities in different states (backlog, todo, in progress, done)
      • Will need regular (at least quarterly) meetings to organize
        • Assign a work for 6 months out
        • Commit to work 8 weeks out

ECP deliverable updates:

  • [MS-19/04] Ghost Cells
    • Dave added a filter that removes ghost cells
    • Just made a filter that adds a ghost layer array to structured grids (to mark external areas as ghost).
    • It was suggested that for completion of the milestone, the histogram filter should be modified to optionally accept a ghost cell array to ignore inputs from ghost cells.
  • [MS-19/05] Merge Points
    • Ken is on the hook for merging the Merge Points worklet in.
    • The functionality will actually be part of clean grid.
  • [MS-19/06] Connected Components
    • No one from LANL is here.
  • [MS-19/07] Advect Time Varying
    • The components are generally there.
    • Need to write some tests (currently there are only examples)

Nick updating user guide for new features. MRs coming soon.

Rob has updated the test infrastructure to pass all argc and argv to our test management code. Allows us to add new features later.

Hoachang working on generalized timer.
